Pattern and Planning
July 10 @ 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
This class is where you can learn pattern manipulation such as moving darts, changing style lines, and improving pattern fit; some basic pattern drafting or draping; troubleshooting or understanding pattern directions; and taking measurements to make adjustments to a pattern. Students will need to bring their own supplies for pattern-making such as tracing paper, tape measure, pencil, rulers, paper scissors, safety pins, etc. No sewing machine is needed for this class. This will also be a time to discuss what type of fabric you will need, including underlining, interfacing, lining, and notions for your project. In the last thirty minutes of the class, I will demonstrate and explain how to prepare and sew you muslin (test garment) for the next class, Muslin Fitting.
The class is on the second floor of a historic building in downtown Franklin. There is no elevator access, only stairs.
