Using either the Olivia pattern from Edgewater Avenue or the Luna pattern from Helen’s Closet Patterns, students will make their own custom fit swimsuit or tank, respectively. Carly will explain how to fit, how to properly cut and sew fabric with high stretch content, and how to properly install the elastic and binding. Students will need to purchase their chosen pattern and bring the material, as well as their own sewing machine to the class. A supply list and a recommended vendor list for fabric will be provided upon registration. The focus of the class is to learn the best techniques for sewing with this technical fabric. Once you have taken this class, you have will have the confidence and skills to tackle more personalized activewear and swimwear projects on your own. Students may pay Carly directly upon arrival. *Please note the class is on the second level of a historic building, that does not have elevator access, only stairs. Carly and I will assist all students in carrying machines and supplies up and down the stairs.
